About the SAN

The Security Assistance Network (SAN) is a portal through which the Security Cooperation - Training Management System (SC-TMS). The SAN is for use by Security Cooperation Offices (SCOs), Combatant Commands (CCMDs), MILDEPs, DSCA, DFAS, DoD schoolhouses, Regional Centers (RCs), and other organizations involved in security coopteration international military training.

Error When Accessing SAN Login Page

When accessing the SAN login page, if you receive an error page "The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority" while attempting to log on to the SANWeb, you will need to update your Internet browser's certificates. Question:  What is the Security Assistance Network (SAN)?
Answer:   The SAN is a portal on the internet that allows access to the security Cooperation Training Management System (SC-TMS). It also hosts various international training management documents, and a library that provides for large files to be shared.

Question:  Do I have to change my SAN password? When? How?
Answer:   Your SAN password does need to be changed at least every 60 days. To change your password, log into the SAN and click User Information > Change Your Password and Other User Info. Enter your new password in the Password field. Confirm the new password in the Confirm Password field. Click Save/Submit. Your password must be 9-15 characters in length and must contain at least two each of the following: upper-case, lower-case, numerals and special characters). You will receive an e-mail notification 10 days before your password will expire.

Question:  Can I register my Common Access Card (CAC) with the SAN?
Answer:   Yes, once you have been given a SAN account, there are instructions on the log in page for how to register your CAC with the SAN. Once you register your CAC with the SAN, you may use your CAC and CAC pin to log in instead of the username and password. However, it is recommended that you still update your password every 60 days to keep it active in case you are at a computer that does not have a CAC reader.

Course Login

Registration for DSCU courses is completed using the Cornerstone on Demand (CSOD) Learning Management System (LMS) hosted by the Defense Acquisition University (DAU). You will access the LMS using a dialog similar to that shown to the left. Click the "Need help signing in?" link (indicated by the arrow) if you need help.

If you are a student who currently occupies a Security Cooperation Workforce position, you should be immediately redirected to DSCU’s instance of the CSOD learning management system after logging into the DAU hosted site. If you do not see any DSCU courses available after login, you will need to take one of the following actions:

  1. Register for the Introduction to Security Cooperation Course (SC-101).
  2. Change your organization in your CSOD profile. Follow these Directions for Changing your Organinization so you can view your DSCU courses.
