Executive Director, Defense Resources Management Institute
Dr. Natalie Webb joined the Defense Security Cooperation University
(DSCU) in September 2023 as the Executive Director of the Defense
Resources Management Institute (DRMI). Dr. Webb has been the
director of the DRMI for over 10 years, and prior to that, served as a
professor of economics for over 20 years. She most recently guided the
DRMI through the integration of the organization into DSCU, expanding
the U.S. security cooperation mission in all DRMI education, research,
and service and advising activities.
In her years within the Department of Defense, Dr. Webb has taught
military and civilian officials from over 170 countries and has traveled
to over 50 countries to teach, conduct workshops, and research issues
related to defense resources management and economics. Dr. Webb has
been an invited speaker at international conferences and has served on
the board of Nonprofit Management and Leadership. She currently
conducts research on defense economics and security cooperation,
public finance and management, and nonprofit and voluntary
organizations. Her research appears in the top nonprofit journals and in
multiple economics and management journals.
Dr. Webb received her B.S. in computer science from North Carolina
State University, her M.B.A. from Meredith College, and her Ph.D. in
economics from Duke University. Dr. Webb was awarded a Fulbright
Scholar Award in 1997 to research nonprofit and government
relationships in Oslo, Norway; the U.S. Navy Superior Civilian Service
Award in 2006 for her work with executive education for flag and
general officers; and the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Award for
Outstanding Achievement for exemplary performance as the DRMI
executive director for the period December 2015 through January
2017
