DSCU faculty and staff train and educate the Security Cooperation enterprise in support of the National Defense Strategy and America’s allies and partners. As the Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) and Security Cooperation mission evolve, so do the quantity and quality of resident and non-resident programs offered to meet these requirements.
To help DSCU provide the high-quality training and education that the enterprise demands, DSCU maintains institutional accreditation through the Council on Occupational Education (COE), which provides the standards and criteria most appropriate to DSCU’s mission and the professional development needs of the workforce. Through its standards, COE assures “quality and integrity in the career and technical education” of its members in a student-focused process that aligns the University’s activities with workforce demands.
DSCU's successor organizations were first awarded accreditation by COE in 2001 and were reaffirmed in 2007, 2013 and 2019, each time for the maximum possible 6 years. DSCU's next reaffirmation is scheduled for 2025.
