The Strategic Advisor Course is required for civilian detailees (GS-13 to GS-15) selected to fill Ministry of Defense Advisory (MoDA) positions; an assignment is required to attend DA-210. The course provides the knowledge and skills to advance U.S. security interests by supporting the development of foreign defense sector institutional capacity, competencies, and capabilities through sustained expert advising and mentoring. Students will learn to leverage relationships to support capacity building at a local level. This 3-week instructor-led course is held at DSCU Headquarters in the National Capital Region. The other required course for MoDA training is ATE-340: Defense Advising for Experts, which is taken after completion of DA-210.
